From the people who brought you Nut-A-Thon, Steve Austin Day, a screening of Redhead, and more, comes our latest attempt at bringing you something fun to do...
The Inaugural BAR NONE KARAOKE CONTEST!!!
Beginning MONDAY, JUNE 23rd, and running EVERY MONDAY through the FINALS on MONDAY, AUGUST 18, we're seeking to find the best, most interesting, and most entertaining Karaoke performer in our area!
Oh, and did we mention the $500 FIRST PLACE PRIZE!!!
Now, of course, it being us, we can't just give you some basic karaoke contest like other places might. No, we're going to put our own unique spin on it. Will it work? Who knows but we're giving it a go!
THE DETAILS:
*There will be a total of SIX (6) preliminary rounds which are open to EVERYONE 21 & UP who wishes to compete.
*The preliminary rounds will be split into TWO (2) groups of THREE (3) weeks each with a SEMIFINAL ROUND after each group of 3 Preliminary rounds.
*The top TWO (2) contestants each week will qualify for the SEMIFINAL.
*The top TWO (2) from each SEMIFINAL will qualify for the FINAL to be held on MONDAY, AUGUST 18TH.
THE DETAILS (PART 2)
*People will be able to sign up for ONE (1) Preliminary Round each in either the first (Weeks 1-3) and second (Weeks 5-7) set of Preliminary rounds. In other words, if you sign up for the Week 2 Preliminary round, you may also only enter one of the Preliminary rounds during Weeks 5-7. If you finish in the Top TWO (2) in any one of the Preliminary rounds and qualify for the SEMIFINAL, or if you fail to qualify for the FINAL from the first SEMIFINAL, you MAY NOT enter a Preliminary Round in Weeks 5-7 in an attempt to qualify for the 2nd SEMIFINAL.
*Sign-ups will take place ONLINE or IN-PERSON in the week leading up to each Preliminary Round with registration ending each week at 8:30PM!
THE DETAILS (PART 3 - HERE IS WHERE IT GETS REALLY INTERESTING)
*When you sign up, you will need to provide Name, Phone Number, and Email address.
*You will pick TWO (2) songs to perform that week.
*One song MUST come from a PRESELECTED LIST of popular and common Karaoke songs, and the other song is completely the choice of the contestant.
*When selecting from our list, a contestant may pick ANY version of that song performed by ANY artist, not just the original version. For example "Can't Help Falling in Love" by either Elvis or UB40, or "All Along the Watchtower" by Bob Dylan or Jimmy Hendrix.
*The contest will have TWO (2) separate rounds, during the FIRST round (starting at 9PM) all of that week's contestants will sing their song from our PRESELECTED LIST. And during the SECOND round, all of the contestants will perform their individual song choice.
*Each week's Top 2 will be announced both in person and online. You do not have to stick around to hear the results.
*In between rounds and afterwards, it will be Karaoke as usual with DJ BIG BEAR for everyone not competing.
Details on the SEMIFINALS and FINAL will be announced soon. In the meantime, pay attention for more information in the coming days, and get practicing those songs!
