Visit two of the most popular sites in the Peak District - the summit of Win Hill and the Ladybower 'plug-holes'. And as a bonus, Win Hill is an 'Ethel'. If this is your first, there are 94 more high points in the Peak District to visit. Ask your Ranger for details.
The building of the dams of the Upper Derwent created an iconic landscape. We visit old wells, hear the story of Bamford Mill and tales of myth and legend. A gentle start leads to a steep climb of Win Hill giving fantastic views of the Hope Valley and Upper Derwent. We return by crossing Ladybower Dam with views of the plugholes. Suitable for older children (7+) used to walking similar distances over steep terrain.
