This a classic walk up the friendliest of the infamous Yorkshire 3 Peaks. This is a tough route with spectacular scenery. The paths are well trod and the descent is over good terrain, but the climb is a beast (including a short scramble)!
We will be taking our time, climbing Pen-y-Ghent from the pretty village of Horton in Ribblesdale, passing herds of iconic, black-faced, Swaledale sheep. We will then continue along the ridge to Plover Hill before descending into the valley and continuing back along a well surfaced track to Horton. The views are incredible, especially when you've earned them.
A 9 mile route of approx. 1,500ft ascent. Expected to take 5 hours.
Well behaved, friendly (with other dogs and people), agile dogs are welcome (max. 2 per person), but please note we are likely to encounter livestock enroute. Children aged approx. 10+ also welcome.
As with all Abigail's Trails, this is a small-group guided walk led by a professional Mountain Leader. Spaces are limited and cost £20 per person.
