Settle, Horton-in-Ribblesdale, and Ribblehead Memory Bank

To mark Rail 200 and the 150th anniversary of the Settle & Carlisle Railway opening, the Neighbourhood Project CIC is carrying out a social research programme to capture people's memories and stories about the line and its stations. This will result in us producing a series of short videos in early 2026.

This event is the first of our 'memory banks' concerning the Settle & Carlisle Railway. It is to give people an opportunity to share their memories and stories about the line and its stations, both open and closed, and how they impacted on their lives and their communities.

The event is for people who want to share memories about the Settle, Horton-in-Ribblesdale, and Ribblehead stations, and also if they know any interesting facts about the Settle Junction station which closed in 1877.

The 'memory bank' will take place in Settle Methodist Church on Friday 10th October 2025, 1pm to 3pm - all welcome!
