Hopkinton Library's Color Craze is back!
Are you ready for more FUN, more COLOR, more EXCITEMENT, and more ACTIVITIES than ever before?!?
Join us Saturday, June 14th @ the Lenox College Campus in Hopkinton for the most colorful family fun event of the summer!
Plan to arrive between 11:00-noon and come to the registration table where we will stagger-start participants in the order they arrive (FYI: we anticipate a rush right at 11:00 and smaller crowds from 11:30-noon).
Our Color Craze is a 2K untimed, non-competitive event that is routed through the streets of Hopkinton with FIVE color blast stations along the way!
The route brings you back to the campus for more fun to follow with FREE CARNIVAL GAMES, FREE FACE PAINTING, FREE TATTOOS, and more! Available for purchase will be lunch from the Lions Club booth, sweet treats from Delaney's Ice Cream truck, and a coffee truck with a variety of delicious drinks!
Making the event even bigger, KMCH will be broadcasting live from the campus with music & more fun!
Advance tickets are only $5 or $10 on the day of the event- ages 5 & under are free!
All participants will get a free bottle of water at check-in.
**If we are unable to hold the event for any reason, including weather, tickets will be refunded.
FAQs
What should I wear?
Wearing a white shirt is perfect for making color powder really stand out! If you have any other neon clothes, hats, socks, tutus, or other costumes throw those on, too! Wearing neon will make the colored powder “pop”! The color should mostly wash out, but don’t wear any items (including shoes) that you don’t want to add a little color to!
Is the powder safe?
The color powder is safe, non-toxic and free of heavy metals. Some people prefer to wear sunglasses or goggles and/or a bandana to cover their nose and mouth, but that is up to you! Consult your doctor if you have other health concerns or questions.
Can I bring my camera/phone?
Yes! You are welcome to bring electronic devices, but we recommend wrapping them in plastic wrap or placing them in a baggie to keep them safe and clean.
Are strollers allowed?
Absolutely! Strollers, wagons, etc… are allowed, but they may be a little more colorful after the event!
Can I bring my pet?
For the safety of our participants and comfort of our animal friends, we do not allow pets on the course.
Are there refunds?
Refunds will only be given if the event is canceled.
*A note for the ride home:
It’s a good idea to bring an extra change of clothing or towels to sit on for the drive back home. Much of the color can be shaken/blown off, just make sure you get plenty of photos before you do!
To preserve the color on your clothing:
Don’t shake out the excess color
Lay the item flat and saturate with white vinegar (a spray bottle works great!)
Leave it flat to dry
Once dry, iron to lock in color
Toss in the dryer on high heat for about 10 minutes
