Learn How to Support Others After a Crisis at the Emotional First Aid Training Seminar in Hood River
The Trauma Intervention Program Northwest (TIPNW), in collaboration with local community partners, invites community members, professionals, and anyone interested in compassionate crisis response to attend the upcoming Emotional First Aid (EFA) Training Seminar on Saturday, June 21, 2025, from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM at the Best Western Plus Hood River Inn.
This unique 8-hour seminar offers life-changing skills to help attendees support people immediately following a traumatic event. Participants will learn how to be present and helpful in times of emotional shock—whether with friends, coworkers, clients, or even strangers.
Led by June Vining, Executive Director and Founding Volunteer of TIPNW and nationally recognized for her leadership and crisis response training, the seminar will explore:
- What to say—and not say—after a traumatic event
- The difference between caring and curing
- Understanding emotional shock
- The TIP 5 Emotional First Aid Skills
- What people need after a sudden death
- How to give a compassionate death notification
