WHEN: August (dates TBA) - from a Friday at 4 PM to a Sunday at 10 AM any weekend in August
WHERE: Kalōpā Park on the Hāmākua Coast of the Big Island
WHO: All women ages 21+ The vast majority of women who attend our retreats range in ages from 35 to 60 with a healthy and welcome scattering of younger and older women. We believe in the value of a diverse and multigenerational group gathering and sharing their stories, and we welcome all women.
WHAT: “All Hands In” is a rustic weekend retreat at Kalōpā Park on the Hāmākua Coast of the Big Island. We will sleep in four cabins of eight bunk beds each. This retreat is about nature and sisterhood with women sharing and caring for one another in an all-hands-in way in the middle of the forest. We will unplug and disconnect from the stress of the world. We will have nighttime sharing circles, wildcraft crown making, learn Sylvotherapy basics (forest bathing), navigate a forest trail together as a team (bare feet optional!), an outdoor dance party, and whatever else flows naturally from our community of women.
WHY: Wild Women Hawai'i was organized to unite women for mutual support, empowerment, and sisterhood in a non-judgmental safe space. Regardless of your beliefs, age, culture, ethnicity, or lifestyle, you are welcome with the agreement to show mutual respect and kindness for one another. Our purpose is to strengthen our bond as women, and for all women to experience community and overall wellness regardless of our similarities and differences. Surround yourself with much-needed women's support, liberate yourself from patriarchal narratives, and realize that you are not alone in your journey. Our purpose is to build a sisterhood of understanding and love. Our approach to diversity is simple: it's about embracing every woman. Religious indoctrination is not welcome or intended. Political debate is not intended. Naturally, we welcome healthy and respectful discussions on women’s rights and issues that impact all of us. During these turbulent times, we are all vulnerable, carrying grief and strong opinions, and we ask you to hold this in awareness. We generate a field of trust and truth in our circles, and we want each woman to feel safe in gifting their story. We ask you to tend to the harmony and mutual support of our sharing space. Let’s celebrate being women and connect our journeys, together.

The journey of this retreat will fulfill its namesake in that everyone will chip in to help it run smoothly. We will set up our women’s circle space inside the dining lodge for our nighttime sharing circles, and be outdoors as much as possible during the day. Guest permitting, we will offer pop-ups*. Because we will be in a public park and for a shorter length of time, this retreat will be much more light and fun than our other private retreats and is therefore priced accordingly for affordability.
Sweet Cane Cafe will cater our healthy and delicious meals. Everything will be gluten-free and vegan-friendly with some vegetarian side options. Most of Sweet Cane's food is naturally gluten-free with mostly vegan options. It's delicious!
Everyone will be required to fill one cleanup shift in the lodge. Sweet Cane will set up our meals and you will work one shift to clean up. (Plates and utensils will be compostable.) Details will be provided when you sign up. The more women we have join us for this retreat, the more enjoyable the shifts will be. This makes the retreat much more affordable and community-inspired with all hands in. You will have access to a signup list after you register, so the earlier you sign up, the better choice of shifts you will have. Everyone will also help maintain the retreat space, add blankets and cushions to our gathering space, and work together to take down camp on our final morning.
Fair Warning: this retreat is rustic. The basic cabins have eight wooden bunk beds and one bathroom per eight women. There may or may not be padding on the wood bed platform. You will bring your own bedding, padding, towels, camp chair, mat, etc. You will be asked to bring cushions, quilts, and blankets for the women's lodge circle space to help make it comfortable and a true community space.
*Pop-up activities are side offerings that guests have brought to share individually with other guests during Free Being time. This is entirely optional. Money will not be exchanged or requested. These are not group classes or workshops. Instead, they are one-on-one offerings. Some ideas include outdoor body painting, reiki, drumming, tarot readings, pedicures, and henna. Our Networking Policy will apply.
