Learn how to add depth, texture, and personality to your art by blending encaustic with collage techniques. Experiment with exciting textures of various fabrics, papers, metal, and cardboard while learning how to fuse encaustic layers for stunning effects. Bring and personalize your own substrate (wood or tile) or use the provided watercolor paper.
Whether you're new to encaustic or looking to expand your skills, this beginner level workshop is perfect for anyone eager to create one-of-a-kind pieces with endless creative possibilities! Bring your gel prints, printed napkins, and favorite quotes or photos to personalize your creations.
Participants must feel comfortable wearing latex gloves and working with a heat gun, melted wax applications can reach 200°. A shirt or apron to protect clothing and a face mask are recommended.
This is a beginner level class, open to students ages 16 to adult. All tools and materials are included in the class fee of $70 per person. Please bring your own non-latex gloves if needed due to allergy.
