Birding the Eno - Summer Migration Bird Walk & ID Program

Join the Eno River Association and New Hope Bird Alliance for an early morning birding session at the Confluence Natural Area. Afterward, learn from birding expert Tom Driscoll about the basics (and some expert tips) for bird identification. The summer migration should be in full swing, so this is a great opportunity to observe less common species!

Bring water and snacks(if you like). Please bring binoculars if you have them. We will bring extra pairs to borrow if needed.

Suggested ages 16 and up.

Limited to 15 participants.

Accessibility information: This program will involve a 1-3 mile hike along unpaved, sometimes uneven rocky, and rooted trails. Composting toilet restrooms are available and can be accessed by a sidewalk.

Directions: Meet at the pavilion beside the parking lot. The address is 4214 Highland Farm Rd, Hillsborough, NC 27278.

From Hillsborough take Hwy 86 North away from town 1.6 miles from US70. Turn left on Coleman Loop 1.1 miles. Turn left on Highland Farm Rd 2.4 miles. The Confluence is on the left. There is a large sign and a gravel driveway.

From northern Orange County take Hwy 86 south after passing Walnut Grove Church Rd take the first right on Kenion Rd 1.7 miles. Turn right on Highland Farm Rd 0.6 miles. The Confluence is on the left. There is a large sign and a gravel driveway.
