About the event

AWAY FROM HOME
Away From Home are a jazz quintet from Leeds, featuring Benji Arnold (trombone/vocals), Jamie Gallacher (tenor sax), Isaac Keech (piano), Sean Blake (bass), and Billy Goulding (drums).

UK jazz is in a sustained and highly energised renaissance which is driven by youth, diversity and originality. Away From Home are very much a part of it and typify the movement.

They are energetic, youthful, and occasionally gloriously wonky, and this Leeds-based quintet unleashes its original swinging tunes with an acoustic rhythm section and bottom- heavy horns. Influenced by Mingus, Phronesis & Don Ellis, they bring rich tones and new ideas every time they play.

'Led by ace trombonist Benji Arnold – new rising stars on the Leeds DIY x Alt-Jazz scene. Edgy jazz fusion straight outta Leeds' – DJ Lubi Jovanovic
