Time 2 Groove (T2G) program is a Percussive Arts Academy for people of ALL abilities using both the evidence based multi-sensory curriculum of The Rhythmic Arts Project (TRAP), as well as the healing properties of Native American and West African Drum Circles to enhance the overall musical experience of each participant.
This program is uniquely designed to help individuals with Down syndrome develop skills related to focus, memory, socialization, sequencing, sign language, motor control, spatial awareness, and communication. Participation in our drum circles allows everyone to practice playing in an ensemble setting that further develops their behavioral control and overall communication with their peers. Participants in the Siblings Group will gain skills, too!
Caregivers are encouraged to participate in specific rhythmic activities, which are focused on improving supportive communication.
All activities and drum circles are facilitated by Bobby Kent and his extraordinary daughter, Isabella Forrester-Kent.
All sessions will occur at the DSAMT office 1310 Central Court, Hermitage, TN 37076. DSAMT reserves the right to change the day due to holidays, weather, or other unforeseen circumstances. The fee is $25.
Excessive absences may result in program dismissal, so that classes can stay full and waitlist minimal. Refunds will not be made. DSAMT reserves the right to change the day or cancel a class due to holidays, weather, or other unforeseen circumstances.
