Let’s dig into the wonders of the natural world! During week 1, young learners will explore the magic of seeds, soil, and sunshine while building confidence and curiosity through gardening and nature-based activities. Campers will discover how small actions can grow into something beautiful!
Day 1 – Seed Bombs & Soil Science
Campers will get their hands dirty learning about seeds, pollinators, and what plants need to thrive. They’ll mix soil, clay, and seeds to create seed bombs—little balls of potential they can plant at home or in a local green space.
Day 2 – Mini Herb Gardens
From basil to mint, campers will plant and personalize their take-home herb gardens! Along the way, they’ll learn about watering, sunlight, and the tasty, healthy benefits of growing your own food.
Day 3 – Plant-Based Dyeing
Campers will dive into the colorful world of natural dyes! Using fruits, vegetables, and other kitchen items, they’ll learn how to create vibrant dyes. They’ll dye fabric pieces, transforming them into unique works of art that reflect the colors of nature. These beautifully dyed fabrics can be saved and used in the following week to create reusable beeswax food wraps, promoting sustainability and creativity in the kitchen!
