We Hike to Heal - Hendersonville, NC, FREE Women's Group Hike

Our mission at We Hike to Heal is to build an inclusive community that normalizes self care, creates a sacred space for healing and adventure, and prioritizes the mental and emotional wellbeing of all women. Because we believe that when women thrive, the world thrives.

This is the third event in a series of FREE mindful hikes for women. We will incorporate more distance and elevation as the year goes on. Come to one hike or join us for all! We welcome all fitness levels. Our goal is to enjoy the journey.

This hike features Holly Road to Hooker Falls in DuPont State Forest. We'll start with a guided meditation, hike 1.8 miles through the forest taking breaks along the way, and do a little journaling and/or swimming at the base of Hooker Falls before hiking 1.8 miles back.

Holly Road to Hooker Falls trail is rated as a beginner trail, 3.6 miles in length with 324 feet of elevation change. The trailhead is approximately 53 minutes from Asheville, NC; one hour and 10 minutes from Greenville, SC. Parking is limited. Please arrive early and carpool, if possible.

Time: Plan to arrive at 8:45am with 9am departure. Please be punctual.

Location/Directions: The Holly Road trailhead is located at Lake Imaging Parking Area in DuPont State Forest, Lake Imaging Road, Hendersonville, NC

Difficulty level/Distance: 3.6 miles on a easy, out-and-back trail (324 feet of elevation gain).

Restroom Facilities: There is a portable toilet at the Lake Imaging Parking Area and restrooms at Hooker Falls Parking Area (our halfway point).

What you will need for this hike:

• Plenty of water to drink (we recommend at least 1 liter)
• Snacks
• Comfortable hiking shoes/boots or trail sneakers with good traction
• Comfortable moisture wicking clothing (i.e. workout clothes), dress in layers so you can add/remove as your temperature fluctuates
• Bathing suit, water shoes or Chacos, and a towel if you would like to swim
• A towel or cushion to sit on if you're uncomfortable sitting on the ground
• Trekking poles or any other items that would make your hike more comfortable
• Your journal and something to write with
• A daypack/backpack to carry all your items

This event is for women identified folks 18 and older only.
