Swallow The Sun on yksi suomalaisen metallimusiikin kansainvälisesti arvostetuimmista yhtyeistä. Vuonna 2000 Jyväskylässä perustettu bändi on tunnettu kyvystään yhdistää synkkä melankolia, doom-metallin painostavat syvyydet ja lohdullinen kauneus ainutlaatuiseksi kokonaisuudeksi. Pitkä ura on kartuttanut listaykkösiä, kolme Emma-ehdokkuutta ja yli 900 keikkaa neljällä eri mantereella.
Juhlaviikoilla Swallow The Sun juhlistaa 25-vuotista uraansa ainutlaatuisella Between Two Worlds – 25th Anniversary Show -konsertilla. Väliajallisessa konsertissa yhtyeen musiikin ääripäät kohtaavat ja sulautuvat toisiinsa tavalla, joka harvoin on koettavissa livenä. Illan ensimmäinen puolisko johdattaa kuulijat bändin synkimpään maailmaan yhden kaikkien aikojen raskaimman funeral doom -levyn, Songs from the North Pt. III, myötä, joka kuullaan Huvilassa kokonaisuudessaan. Väliajan jälkeen konsertin toinen puolisko esittelee yhtyeen melodisempaa ja kirkkaampaa tuotantoa tarjoten valikoiman kappaleita koko 25-vuotisen uran varrelta.
Konsertti muuntaa Huvilan pimeyden ja valon temppeliksi, kun yleisö johdatellaan syvälle Swallow The Sunin maailmaan, jossa synkät varjot ja lohdullinen valo kietoutuvat yhteen ainutlaatuiseksi kokonaisuudeksi. Yhtyeen perustaja ja säveltäjä Juha Raivio tiivistää: ”Tervetuloa yön ja aamun, helvetin ja taivaan rajalle. Kahden maailman välille.”

Swallow The Sun is one of Finland’s most internationally acclaimed metal bands. Founded in 2000 in Jyväskylä, the band is known for its ability to seamlessly blend dark melancholy, the crushing depths of doom metal, and a longing for beauty into a unique musical entity. Their career has brought them to the top of the charts, earned them three Emma Award nominations, and taken them on over 900 shows across four continents.
At Helsinki Festival, Swallow The Sun celebrates its 25th anniversary with a truly special concert: “Between Two Worlds – 25th Anniversary Show.” Huvila transforms into a temple of darkness and light, where the band’s musical extremes collide and merge in a way rarely experienced live.
The first half of the evening delves into the band’s deepest and heaviest realms as Swallow The Sun performs Songs from the North Pt. III in its entirety—one of the most crushing funeral doom albums ever created. After the intermission, the second half of the concert unveils the band’s more melodic and luminous side, featuring a selection of songs spanning their 25-year career.
This night will take the audience deep into Swallow The Sun’s sonic universe, where shadows and solace intertwine into a singular experience. Band founder and composer Juha Raivio encapsulates the essence of the night: “Welcome to the edge of night and morning, to the border of heaven and hell. Between two worlds.”
