About the teachers:
Kristina started dancing Brazilian Zouk in Saint Petersburg, Russia, in 2010. That was the time when Zouk was just arriving to Saint Petersburg. Zouk was Kristina’s first couple dance and it became her whole-hearted passion. In 2014 Kristina moved to Helsinki and started learning with Freddy and Andressa at Helsinki Dance Central. She became a teacher and taught classes there for multiple years; she has also taught abroad. In Zouk, Kristina especially loves the variety of music available and creativity. Her other interests include body awareness, breathing, flow and connection.
Heidi is a certified Yoga teacher with experience teaching yoga and fitness classes in Finland and abroad. She came across Brazilian Zouk while living in Malta back in 2019 and was immediately drawn to the deep sense of presence and flow it offered—much like yoga and the arts. With a background in Social Work and a specialization in using music, dance, and other creative practices as therapeutic tools, Heidi is passionate about exploring different ways to support mindfulness and presence in a daily life. For her, Zouk is not just a dance, but a practice of being fully present in the moment – aware and connected not only with herself but also with the person she dances with. Through both yoga and dance, she works to create a friendly and supportive environment where people can connect, learn, and strengthen the bond between their body and mind.
