🎶 Ben Morris Musicality Workshops is your chance to take musicality to the next level.
Musicality is the art of listening and responding, translating music into movement. In West Coast Swing it’s essential, because:
🎵 Every song is new. WCS is danced to a constantly evolving playlist and dancers must decode unfamiliar music in real time.
🎵 Patterns don’t match phrasing. The six-count basic sits over eight-beat musical phrases, making it vital to sense the structure and adapt your dance accordingly.
🎵 Partner connection depends on musical alignment. Both leader and follower must share musical sensitivity to create seamless, expressive connection.
WEDNESDAY 17.9.:
✨ Three different levels – Blue, Red, Black
✨ Each class is 75 min instruction + 15 min social dancing per level
✨ Price: 39 €/person/class, or 35 €/person/class if enrolled with a partner.
LEVEL REQUIREMENTS:
🔵 Blue: Solid basics required – you should already feel comfortable with WCS fundamentals so you can focus on the music. Recommended for dancers with at least 1 year of experience.
🔴 Red: Basic patterns and their variations feel easy to dance, you’re already adding styling, and you can play with rhythm – for example shortening or extending patterns. For dancers with minimum 2,5 years of experience.
⚫ Black: Entry with Novice WSDC points or by separate permission from Tuomas & Reetta.
