Community of Practice: Interpreters' Discussion Group (0.2 CEUs)

Community of Practice: “a group of people who share an interest / passion in learning to improve their profession, together”. Join us and participate in a new series of facilitated discussions where we use collective perspectives to analyze a variety of subjects related to the work of interpreting ASL and English. Each session will consist of guided discussions with colleagues from our local community who have taken a closer look at shared experiences familiar to most interpreters & different options we can use to analyze them. This group aims to foster healthy discussions
in a safe environment for ASL Interpreters (hearing & Deaf)
of ALL experience levels.
What topics are recently on your mind? We will collect important discussion ideas from the registration form that will guide and shape our discussion.

DISCUSSION GROUP OBJECTIVES:
* We will identify various factors that present us with challenges while performing our jobs.
* We will collecticely look at strategies to address complex work dynamics & consider available options.
* We will explore recovery techniques for maintaining awareness of decision points while doing our work.
