Welcome to the Homestyle Chili Cooking Class, led by 12-year Master Chili Cook, Jason Willis!
In this class you will step inside the International Chili Society (ICS) competition world, where you’ll experience the heat of the cook’s tent and the intensity of the judges’ panel firsthand.
What you’ll learn:
• Watch award-winning chili come to life, then prepare your own!
• Master the importance of timing and quality ingredients in competition-style cooking.
• Gain insight into the judging process and what makes a winning chili.
• Take part in a simulated judging contest to refine your chili instincts.
• Explore different flavor profiles and sample a variety of delicious chilis.
• Receive a detailed equipment checklist for future ICS Cook Offs.
By the end of the class, you’ll have a solid understanding of what makes Homestyle Chili special—how it’s crafted, the key ingredients used, and the balance of flavors that sets championship chili apart!
