Join Hammonton Green Committee and the NJ Watershed Ambassadors Program for a hands-on Rain Barrel Workshop. Learn about the environmental benefits of a rain barrel. All participants will build their very own rain barrel to bring home to collect and reuse rainwater. All supplies will be provided.
REGISTRATION REQUIRED!
📅 Date: June 22
🕙 Time: 11 AM (1.5-3 hours)
📍 Location: Canoe Club, located at the Hammonton Lake Park, 100 Sports Drive, Hammonton, 08037
Unpainted Barrel: $30
Make and Paint Barrel: $55
This workshop will be lots of fun, hands-on, and you’ll leave with your own 55-gallon rain barrel. We’ll start things off with a quick presentation about rain barrel use, care, and installation, then we’ll roll up our sleeves and build the barrel. Things usually wrap up in about 1.5 hours (or less) – anyone that paid to paint a barrel should plan to stay a bit longer.
We have painter’s tape, stencils, brushes, and acrylic paint. We’ll provide some guidance and advice.
Attendants are welcome to paint and design until 3pm. We’ll discuss having a second session for anyone that needs more time painting or drying.
If the weather is nice, we’ll be outdoors. May get clothes dirty (caulk or paint).
It’s a great idea to bring a helper, but there will be lots of helping hands at the workshop for anyone that needs it. No technical experience required.
