Grow Your Own Oyster Mushrooms: Hands-On Mushroom Workshop

Want to gain the skills for ecological mushroom growing and build your own oyster mushroom chamber using either a 3.5-gallon bucket or a grow bag? Join us for this interactive hands-on workshop!

By growing your own mushrooms at home you can eliminate the need for packaging and transportation reducing your carbon footprint while also saving money. While there’s a small initial setup cost your mushroom system will provide multiple flushes of fresh delicious mushrooms throughout the fruiting season.

Oyster mushrooms are nutritious beginner-friendly and one of the easiest varieties to grow at home. This is a perfect workshop for anyone curious about food sustainability urban agriculture or fungi!

🌱 Workshop Includes:

• A step-by-step tutorial from our resident fungi experts Blair (@hamontmushrooms) and Christina (@stinamycelia) on how to grow oyster mushrooms from start to harvest

All materials provided including:

• Oyster mushroom spawn
• Sterilized substrate
• Organic fertilizer
• A container (bucket or grow bag)

No experience necessary just bring your curiosity and a willingness to get your hands in the dirt!

To ensure we have enough time to acquire all of the materials the last day to register for the workshop will be Tuesday July 8th!
