Celtic goddess of fertility and motherhood, Brigid - is known for her healing abilities and is strongly associated with fire, both in its creative and destructive aspects.
This is reflected in her connection to the forge, where smiths create tools and weapons, and also in her role as a protector of the home. During this time of season, the mythology says Brigid in her maiden form is pregnant with the Sun god.
