This cherished tradition transforms historic Main Street into a vibrant canvas of Red, White, and Blue—with festivities that bring the entire community together in classic Americana style.
PANCAKE BREAKFAST - 8:00 AM to 11:30AM - 501 Main Street, Half Moon Bay
Festivities kick off early with the Half Moon Bay Lions Club Pancake Breakfast from 8:00 AM to 11:30 AM in the City Hall parking lot. Start your day with a stack of fluffy pancakes and fuel up for the fun ahead. Buy tickets here:

FESTIVAL - 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM - 735 Main Street, Half Moon Bay
Before and After the parade, head over to the nearby I.D.E.S. Grounds for the 4th of July Festival, featuring live music, delicious food and drink, artisan vendors, and plenty of kids' activities. Be sure not to miss the Mural Ribbon Cutting Ceremony at 2:15 PM, celebrating a stunning new artistic landmark in the heart of downtown.
PARADE - 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM - Main Street Between Mill Street and Miramontes Street, Half Moon Bay
At 12:00 noon, the streets come alive with the heart of the celebration: the Independence Day Parade—a joyful 90-minute showcase of hometown pride. Expect a colorful lineup of whimsical floats, vintage cars, marching bands, horses, dance groups, decorated bikes and trikes, and local heroes.
Leading the way will be a ceremonial Color Guard from the American Legion, followed by Half Moon Bay’s own dignitaries and Grand Marshal Adora Palmer, a beloved community icon known for her unwavering dedication to preserving the city’s heritage.
In a nod to the town’s western roots, equestrian entries will proudly prance down Main Street, competing for top honors in multiple categories. Meanwhile, the iconic “Sitting Marching Band”, made up of 40 local musicians, will perform patriotic favorites from their legendary spot at Main and Kelly.
