Join us for a summer day hike starting from the lush streams of Mt. Takao, crossing the quiet ridges to Mt. Shiroyama, and finishing by the calm waters of Lake Sagami.
Distance: ~10 km | Moderate | 5~6 hrs incl. breaks
Since this week remained cloudy, I am putting a safer hike by not extending the previous ones.
Train schedule is as follows:
Planning to take Keio Line from shinjuku station.
08:30 – Depart Shinjuku Keio Station (Limited Express bound for Keio-Hachioji)
09:09 - Change to the train for Takaosanguchi
09:23 – Arrive Keio Takaosanguchi Station
09:30 – Group meets at station gates
Feel free to join anywhere till Takaosanguchi station.
Food stalls and snacks are available at two stops along the way, but still better to keep some from before.
Bring: 1.5–2 L water, lunch/snacks, hat, sunscreen, hiking shoes and sticks.
Level: Upper beginner/Moderate — suitable for regular walkers/hikers, with some uphill sections.
If the majority of the group is interested in onsen, we can modify the plan to return to Takaosanguchi station after Shiroyama.
Please be aware this is a casual hike, you are responsible for your own safety and determination of whether you are able to complete this hike - given heat/humidity and level of difficulty.
Let’s enjoy the hike together! 🌞
