Join us for a special Thursday evening in nature! Friends of Grand Rapids Parks is joining with In Your Element Wellness for an outdoor workshop to explore the relaxing benefits of the Japanese wellness practice Shinrin-yoku (“forest bathing”). This practice is a well-researched method for natural stress relief and an approach to time in nature that emphasizes slowing down, paying attention to one’s sensory experience, and noticing the beauty of nature in new ways.
🕚 Session times: 6-7pm OR 7:30-8:30pm
This workshop will briefly introduce the research and science behind forest bathing and its differences from hiking. It will also provide an opportunity to relax, explore the practice, and learn how to apply it to future visits to the woods.
