Design and create a striking, one-of-a-kind bracelet with a sculptural hook-style clasp in this metal clay workshop led by Tammy Honaman, a fun project from her soon-to-be-published book PROJECTS & TECHNIQUES FOR METAL CLAY JEWELRY.
Learn to shape and form the hook and tab clasp using templates and forming tools, then refine, fire, and finish your piece into a functional component that can be strung with chain, beads, or other materials. Whether you lean toward clean simplicity or ornate surface decoration, this class gives you the tools and techniques to make it your own.
What You’ll Learn:
Rolling, cutting, and forming metal clay for a clasp-style design
Techniques for optional texture or syringe embellishment
Creating a functional hook and tab clasp
Finishing techniques including sanding, polishing, and patina
Tips for assembling into a complete bracelet
NOTE: Silver Project X Metal Clay is provided for creating the clasp. Students need to bring (or purchase from the studio) beads of your choice and stringing supplies to create a completed bracelet.
