The Hugo Veldsman Duo are playing on Thursday 29th May from 18:30.

After his 2019 debut, in only 5 years of performing, writing, and touring, Hugo Veldsman has solidified himself within the Folk
and Roots scene of Southern Africa. He has shared the stage with some of the country’s top musical exports, his lapsteel
guitar a quintessential feature within his performances and
creative output, channelling his love for Americana and Blues.

His style is further rooted with his “alternative folk” songwriting, heavily influenced by his finger picking technique from training as a classical guitarist at the Stellenbosch Conservatorium.

Hugo Veldsman and his band have captured audiences (big and small) with soft-worded songs of hope and meaning to rompin’ stompin’ blues straight out of a Mississippi bayou.
