What: What is Pat Dufner Freedom Fest (aka Dufner Day), you ask? For those fans of the movie Old School, it's similar to Mitch-A-Palooza, except instead of Mitch after a divorce, we are re-releasing Pat Dufner into society after his health battle.
A little backstory...Pat Dufner, a loving husband, incredible father, amazing friend, supporter of Smokin' Jim's and Edge Hill Tavern, and former captain, president, and Hall of Famer of Blackthorn Rugby, has been taking the long road back after being diagnosed with a brain tumor last year. He has bravely endured multiple treatments and surgeries, and now, there appears to be light at the end of the tunnel. This is an opportunity to enjoy an afternoon, and maybe a cold beer, with Pat and Hadley. There will be food and drinks available for purchase from Smokin' Jim's and Edge Hill Tavern, yard games, and raffles as we raise funds for brain cancer research and the Dufner family as Pat continues to fight. More details will be shared in the coming weeks. So whether you're friends, family, teammate, or even an opponent of Pat or his family, come by to enjoy Dufner Day in the Chickie's Beer Garden!
