🦉🌳 Ready to test your bird knowledge? Join us for a fun-filled morning of birds and brains at Chaplin Nature Center! 🌳🦉
We have an exciting morning planned for all ages with two different activity tracks. Whether you're a seasoned birder, just beginning, or a curious kid, there's something for you! Participate in a guided walk, test your wits with trivia, or do both!
This event is completely FREE and open to the public.
Schedule of Events:
MORNING HIKES (Start at 9:00 AM)
Adult Bird Walk (9:00 AM - 10:00 AM):
Join expert members of the Wichita Audubon Society for a 60-minute guided hike. You'll learn how to identify local and migratory birds by sight and sound along our beautiful trails. Binoculars are highly recommended!
Kids' Nature Adventure (9:00 AM):
Calling all young explorers (Grades K-6)! Join the CNC Director for a separate, kid-focused nature hike. This interactive walk will feature fun trivia questions along the trail, turning the hike into a scavenger hunt for knowledge!
TRIVIA CHALLENGE (Starts at 10:15 AM)
Adult "Bird Brains" Trivia (10:15 AM):
After the walk, gather back at the visitor center to form a team and put your bird knowledge to the test! We'll have several rounds of questions covering bird facts, identification, and local species.
Prizes:
Prizes will be awarded for the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place trivia champions in both the adult and kids' categories!
RSVP:
An RSVP is greatly appreciated so we can get a headcount, but it is not required to attend.
