Characters of the Ozarks

The Ozarks’ hills and hollers have long been home to folks who have left their mark on the region in unique ways — and on a spectrum that runs from sparkling to sinister.

During this talk on June 20, you’ll learn about colorful characters like Buff Lamb, legendary sheriff of Christian County; Birdle Mannon, who became nationally known for her back-to-land life; and Coin Harvey, a leader of the “free silver” movement who aspired to build a pyramid to connect to new civilizations.

This event begins at 7 p.m. and will be held at the Kindall Store, 3499 State Hwy Z, Fordland. You’re welcome to come early (doors open at 6 p.m.) to peruse the store, and dinner will be available for purchase if you’d like to eat.
