これは弁財天が水の神様であることや、蛇の再生のイメージから、幸運や繁栄をもたらす神様として信仰されているからです。

【行 程】
▶「日本三大弁才天」のひとつとされる江島神社です。
三大弁才天のあとふたつは、広島の宮島にある厳島神社と琵琶湖に浮かぶ竹生島にある都久夫須麻神社です。
▶龍神信仰と弁天信仰が習合した江ノ島信仰
歴史をさかのぼると、江の島はもともと龍神信仰の地でした。
伝説によれば、鎌倉には昔、五つの頭を持つ龍がいて悪行を重ねていたが、そこへ美しい天女が舞い降り、龍を諭して悪行をやめさせたという。
この天女の天下りとともに出現したのが江の島で、天女は江島神社に奉られる弁才天です。
龍神はめでたく天女を妻にし、その後は善行を施すようになったが、やがて江の島の対岸にある龍口山(りゅうこうざん)に姿を変えたという。これにより龍神信仰と弁天信仰が習合し、江ノ島信仰となりました。

A formal visit to Enoshima Shrine, where the strongest 2025 dragon deity faith merges with Benzaiten worship
“Year of the Snake (2025) is also very powerful”
Snakes—especially white snakes—are known as the attendants of Benzaiten.
This is because Benzaiten is a water deity, and snakes symbolize rebirth. For these reasons, she is revered as a goddess of good fortune and prosperity.
Therefore, in 2025, the Year of the Snake, Enoshima Shrine is so powerful and is the perfect place to visit.
Visiting a shrine with knowledge and understanding makes a big difference compared to visiting without knowing anything.
There are special manners and ways to increace the maximum luck.

● Sacred Journey to Enoshima Shrine — A Fusion of Dragon and Benzaiten Faiths
Date: Thursday, July 3 Time: 2:00 PM – around 7:30 PM
Meeting Point: Outside the ticket gate of Katase-Enoshima Station (Odakyu Line)
Join us on a special pilgrimage to Enoshima Shrine, one of Japan’s Three Great Benzaiten Shrines.
The other two are Itsukushima Shrine on Miyajima Island (Hiroshima) and Tsukubusuma Shrine on Chikubu Island (Lake Biwa).
●About Enoshima Faith
Enoshima is a sacred site where Dragon God worship and Benzaiten worship have harmoniously merged over centuries.
According to legend, a five-headed dragon once brought misfortune to Kamakura until a heavenly maiden descended and transformed the dragon’s heart.
That celestial maiden was none other than Benzaiten, the goddess of music, water, fortune, and wisdom—enshrined at Enoshima Shrine.
The dragon reformed, married the goddess, and eventually became the sacred Mt. Ryūkō across the bay. This story gave rise to the unique Enoshima Faith, blending the power of dragons with divine feminine energy.

◆ Hetsunomiya (Lower Shrine)
We will begin with a formal shrine visit here.
Deity: Tagitsuhime-no-Mikoto
Includes access to the Homotsuden (Treasure Hall) — home to the famous Eight-Armed Benzaiten, as well as the Nude Benzaiten and Myoon Benzaiten.
Admission (200 yen) is included in the participation fee.

Deity: Ichikishimahime-no-Mikoto
◆Okutsunomiya (Upper Shrine / Main Sanctuary)
Deity: Tagirihime-no-Mikoto

Explore the sacred caves once believed to be the dwelling of dragons.

I share special methods of worship that can increase one’s blessings by earning the favor of the deities—a modern interpretation of the traditional Oshi pilgrimage guide, now known as a Power Spot Meister.
※ Oshi (御師) were individuals affiliated with specific temples or shrines who guided pilgrims, helped them with prayers, lodging, and local information.
In the modern Reiwa era, Oshi are independent and not tied to specific religious institutions.
