Memorial Day Masonic Procession & Open House

Join Fredericksburg Lodge No. 4, A.F. & A.M. in honoring our brethren who served in the American Revolution and the War of 1812, who now rest in the oldest Masonic Cemetery in the Western Hemisphere. This will be a memorable opportunity to see the 1784 Masonic Cemetery and pay respects to some of Fredericksburg’s notable historic figures, including Gen. George Weedon, Gen. John Minor, Brig. Gen. Gustavus B. Wallace, Maj. Benjamin Day, and more! The event includes the following:

9 a.m. Meet & Greet at the Lodge (803 Princess Anne St).

10 a.m. Bagpipe Procession to the Masonic Cemetery (900 Charles St) with keynote address by M.W. Jack K. Lewis, Grand Secretary and Past Grand Master of Masons in Virginia.

11 a.m. – 1 p.m. Open House Tours of the Lodge (back at 803 Princess Anne St) beginning with a welcome from our 2025 Master of the Lodge, W.M. Michael Dove, and a presentation on the military service of our brothers buried in the Cemetery by R.W. Shelby L. Chandler, Past District Deputy Grand Master of the Virginia Masonic Research District. Light refreshments will be served.
