Beginners Kayaking 101 - Rappahannock River

Curious about kayaking but not sure where to start? Join Team River Runner FXBG for an introductory paddling event designed to get you safely and confidently on the water.

Whether it’s your first time in a kayak or you’re looking to build a strong foundation, this session offers hands-on instruction in a welcoming and supportive environment. Our American Canoe Association trained instructor will teach you the basics — from gear and safety to paddling techniques and river navigation.

What to Expect:
-Instruction on kayak control and paddle strokes
-River safety and basic rescue tips
-Water conditions suitable for beginners
-All equipment and training provided free of charge for service members, veterans, and their families.

No experience needed — just come ready to learn and enjoy the river!
