FREE FISH THIEF Documentary Screening and Panel Discussion

Join the Great Lakes Fishery Commission, in partnership with the Wisconsin DNR, Milwaukee Riverkeeper, and UWM School of Freshwater Sciences for a screening of the award-winning documentary, THE FISH THIEF: A Great Lakes Mystery at the Schlitz Audubon Nature Center on Sunday August 17 at 2:30pm.

Narrated by J.K. Simmons, the film uncovers the true story behind the near-collapse of the Great Lakes fishery caused by the invasive sea lamprey. This FREE event will be a fun and educational opportunity for folks of all ages interested in the Great Lakes.

The event will begin at 1:45pm when attendees will have an opportunity to visit informational tables from the GLFC and local partners. There, you'll be able to come face to face with live sea lampreys and learn more about the important, ongoing work to restore and conserve the Milwaukee River, Lake Michigan, and other critical water bodies. The film will begin promptly at 2:30.

Be sure to stay afterwards for an insightful Q&A/panel discussion with subject matter experts, featuring Cheryl Nenn, Riverkeeper at Milwaukee Riverkeeper; Brandon Gerig, PhD, Assistant Professor at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee; and Lindsey Haskin, the film's director.
