Community Compassion Walk for Missing and Murdered Indigenous People
Join us for the Community Compassion Walk for Missing and Murdered Indigenous People to honour the lives of those who have gone missing or have been murdered, and to raise awareness about the ongoing crisis faced by Indigenous communities. This peaceful walk is an opportunity for us to come together as a community, show our solidarity, and pay tribute to the Indigenous individuals whose stories have not been heard, whose voices have been silenced, and whose families continue to search for justice.
The gathering will begin at 5:30pm, where we will hear from speakers, including local Indigenous leaders and advocates. Following a healing ceremony, participants will embark on a 1km walk around the West River’s Edge stock pond, symbolizing our collective journey toward justice, healing, and support.
This event is open to all and aims to raise awareness, build understanding, and show support for Indigenous communities as they continue to advocate for justice. Let us stand together, united in compassion, and amplify the voices that need to be heard.
