Stone Soup Community Circles- New Moon in Cancer- Vulnerable Growth

Join us for this month's Stone Soup Community Circle!

Note the change in venue. Due to the closure of our beloved Haven, this container will be held in the circular grove of Ash Trees knows as "Tree Henge", at the far East end of Lee Martinez Park near Old Town Fort Collins, as we celebrate community spaces to continue our spiritual endeavors.

*Circle will be an inclusive, supportive, non-judgmental place in order to practice the high sensation of being seen. All are welcome and all expressions will be celebrated!

The sign of Cancer represents the internal womb waters of the Mother. No matter how safe, warm, and comfortable these waters may be- growth and change are inevitable.

In order to grow, we must shed the too-small shell that confines us. Breaking open to change, putting yourself out there, and feeling new life can be scary. It leaves us vulnerable to pain, with nothing protecting us from danger. But you don't need courage to soothe your fears, just sit with them. Acknowledge the fears, honor them, and stay in your body. Give yourself tender nurturing love- love for your new self, and the self you are leaving behind.

Our strategy for growth this Cancer Season is to surrender to that breaking open together, to be willing to face the dangers of being seen, to stay present with us, and stay present with the feelings that being visible leaves us open to.

Our circle falls right before a particularly potent Cancer New Moon on June 25th. The Sun moves into Cancer at the Summer Solstice on June 20th, lending the strength and heat of apex Solar Power to the cool, watery, Moon-ruled sign of Cancer. The Summer Solstice marks the longest day of the year in the Northern Hemisphere, and the Sun's highest point in the sky. This season offers us the climax of Masculine Father energy, penetrating deep into the receptive layers of Mother Earth's crust.

The Sun and Moon are joined in Cancer by Mercury AND Jupiter, with Jupiter transiting into Cancer on June 9th, where it will hang for the next year. For this New Moon, it means a flood of tender emotions, grateful emotions, loving emotions, along with clarity of mind, and a desire to communicate vulnerably with others.

Here's how it works:

Each month will have a different theme, based on the above astrological weather.

Come to circle prepared to share something with the group- it can be anything- a poem you wrote, piece of artwork, a craft, baked treats, homemade incense, oracle cards, a meditation, a dream, a story, psychic synchronicities, dance, movement, breathwork, teas, tinctures, wear a costume- literally ANYTHING that your heart wants to express, related to the Astro weather. Then, you vulnerably share this in our circle. Everyone gets a chance to contribute their own "ingredient," so each circle will be different, every circle will be fun!

(**Note, we are not making literal soup. Usually. :))

We know- it's incredibly scary to put yourself out there and share part of your innermost self. The high sensations that come with showing up this way are part of the medicine- part of the magick we will create together! This is how you manifest your desires. Face your fears, and do it anyway!

(Disclaimer: We understand that you may not be ready/able to prepare and share EVERY circle. Sometimes it's appropriate to show up and say "All I have to contribute today is my presence and my witnessing." But still show up! If it becomes a habit and people are consistently showing up without contributing, admins will gently reach out with encouragement to participate greater.)

Schedule:

5:30- 5:45pm: Greetings, social time, set up your seat and get comfy.

5:45-7:15pm: Set ritual space, circle shares.

7:15-7:30pm: Connections, goodbyes.

Tree Henge, a circular grove of 12 White Ash trees at Lee Martinez Park in Fort Collins, CO. Tree Henge stands at the East end of Lee Martinez park and was planted in April of 1990 by our community to show love and care for the Earth. <3

Please bring a lawn chair or blanket to sit on, a water bottle, and bug spray if you need it! (Tea will not be available this month, although I may bring a pitcher of cold, herbal tea).

Venue may be shifted indoors closer to date if poor weather is anticipated.
