Newnham Open Gardens

Come and enjoy an afternoon at one of Kent’s favourite Open Gardens days in the Syndale valley set in an area of outstanding natural beauty

Some lovely village gardens will be open for you to enjoy including Tawnyhill Kennels - 2017 Gardeners' World Best Wildlife Garden runner up - and Calico House both previous NGS openers and updated since the 2023 event.

Ploughman’s lunches served from 12 noon to 2pm at Tawnyhill Kennels where there will be a plant stall. The Kennels are situated outside the village on Homestall Road ME9 0HF where there will be parking available.

Teas will be served from 2.00pm to 5pm at Calico House. 

There will be Pimm’s and local beers available on the village green where a classic jazz trio The Cassis Collective will be playing from 3pm.

There will be flowers to see in the church.

Open gardens include Sandhurst Farm Forge on Seed Road ME9 0NE which will also be hosting craft displays and demonstrations as part of South East Open Studios. Parking and refreshments will be available.

Limited parking at Sharsted Playing Field ME9 0LQ.

Entrance by programme, obtainable at any of the open gardens

Adults £5, accompanied children free

Proceeds to Newnham church funds.
