The annual Torch Run is THIS Tuesday. It isn’t too late to donate to this worthy cause:

Every year, hundreds of agencies and Special Olympics Athletes (Guardians of the Flame) come together to carry the torch, called the Flame of Hope, throughout NorCal, en route to the Opening Ceremony of the Special Olympics Summer Games. Together, the @LETR4SONorCal and the torch symbolize courage and championing acceptance and inclusion for people with and without intellectual disabilities. The Torch Run spans across two weeks, passes through 30 different counties and over 180 cities, generating great visibility throughout local communities.
Last year, we registered a record high of 26 participants, with donated monies going directly to the Special Olympics NorCal. We hope to top that number this year!
With that said, on Tuesday, June 24, between 8:30-9:30 am, members from Fairfield Police Department will accept the flame from Travis Air Force Base and carry the torch from North Texas Street and Cement Hill -Road to Texas Street at Union Avenue, before handing it off to partner agencies. And, as the day swiftly approaches, we just wanted to take the time to tell you just how much we need YOU!
That's right - we're once again asking that the community support our Law Enforcement Runners and Special Olympics Athletes by giving a honk of encouragement if you see them out and about, and via donations to the Special Olympics 501(3)c Special Olympics Northern California.
