A relaxed and revolutionary daytime performance space in Exeter designed to amplify m/other artists and voices.
Join host Lizzy Humber and local m/others*, for a sharing original songs, poetry and stand up. With an exciting headline set from poet and mother Clare Ferguson-Walker.
This is a relaxed and lively space for all grown ups, but children are welcome with you and supported to be themselves, no shhing required! The content is adult-centred, this can sometimes include strong language and adult themes. We find younger children tend not to notice as they are too busy playing, but we offer content warnings before each sharing so you can choose what’s right for you and any accompanying children.
Expect an uplifting, supportive and empowering gig – in the middle of the day! So whether you’re in need of a bit of culture, a community or just an early lunch break – you are welcome!
Relaxed space
Lighting will be dimmed and sound will be at a safe level for little ears. We will have a breakout play area and changing station outside the auditorium where you can also hear the performances, so you don’t have to miss a thing. There is a buggy park and baby changing available. Please note there is no space for buggies in the auditorium, but there will be car seats.
*M/Others
This performance space is open to all m/others – inclusive of pregnant people, non-binary parents, queer mothers, trans parents, adoptive mothers, foster mothers, surrogate mothers, bereaved mothers, grandmothers, great grandmothers. This is not an exclusive list, and the use of ‘/Other’ is intended to include not marginalise anyone. You are welcome to have your children with you, but you must be responsible for them at all times or bring an additional supervising adult.
