🎶 Join us for an intimate night of music and storytelling as three of Eugene’s rising singer-songwriters—Marcus Brown (Ghost Town), Victor DesRoches (Boxcar Figaro), and Axon—share the spotlight in the round. Taking turns, they’ll perform original songs and dive into the stories behind them in an evening that celebrates creativity, connection, and the craft of songwriting.
✨ This special event marks the debut of Venue on Broadway, a brand new space in the heart of downtown Eugene. Designed to foster artistic collaboration across disciplines, the venue offers a flexible, welcoming space for performances, exhibits, and community-driven events.
Axon writes and sings songs in the Western herban cowboy tradition. A seasoned baritone voice and a signature guitar technique deliver an engaging Americana performance. A half a century of performing experience, across a variety of genres, infuses a roots repertoire with elements of folk, blues, jazz, tonk and gospel, informed by a healthy reverence for the soundtrack of "the Sixties".

Songwriter Victor DesRoches has been a solid contributor to the Eugene and Fresno music scenes as both a solo performer and front man for the folk/Americana band Boxcar Figaro for more than 20 years. His honest, well-made, slightly quirky and sometimes moving songs reflect a life that has been lived honestly and observantly. Delivered with a strong voice and clear, straight-forward style, his shows are intimate, intelligent and entertaining. A West-Coast native, Victor has worked as a commercial fisherman, shipping and receiving clerk, security guard, electro-plater, candlemaker, welder, small engine mechanic, pipe-fitter, art instructor, newsletter editor, college English teacher, graphic artist, trade show manager, writer, photographer, journalist, and industrial safety professional. Bits of this varied life season his songs and stories.
Marcus Brown is a roots-country singer-songwriter from Western Oregon whose music blends traditional country, Americana, and raw, personal storytelling. Named a “One to Watch” by the Nashville Songwriters Association, his songs explore love, loss, and life between the coasts. With a sound that nods to John Prine, Hayes Carll, and Waylon Jennings, Brown delivers songs that feel lived-in—rooted in the landscapes and rhythms of his small-town upbringing. He performs across the Pacific Northwest and Nashville with his band, Marcus Brown & Ghost Town, as well as in solo and small group formats. His debut release, Dreamin’ of a Time Machine, arrives June 20, 2025.
