Artistic Encounters with Kef

Kef plays village dance music of the Balkans. Covering styles from the early days of recorded music in Bulgaria, village and urban songs of Macedonia and Albania, to the latest Romani ("Gypsy") brass band and Bulgarian wedding music, Kef's blend of brass, accordion, strings and percussion provides for a versatile sound. A mixture of thrilling tunes in odd meters executed at high speed and beautiful slow melodies expressing the joy and despair of life provide for the enjoyment of dancers and listeners alike.
