Join us for an inspiring exhibition featuring award-winning artists Cindy Roesinger and Shawn Campbell. Roesinger’s evocative oil paintings and Campbell’s expressive sculptures come together in a thought-provoking exploration of contemporary art. Don’t miss this opportunity to experience the powerful synergy of two distinct yet harmoniously engaging artistic voices.
A self-taught painter, Cindy Roesinger’s oil paintings evoke a sense of emotion, depicting local landscapes, florals, and animals, both real and imagined. Often using a painting knife to create imagery that is implied, leaving enough unsaid to engage the viewer in their own narrative. Early influences on her work can be attributed to growing up on a farm in Hopewell, NJ and her very creative family. She takes her paintings to a quieter place that reflects a more organic aesthetic, evoking a peaceful, timeless quality.
Cindy’s work has garnered local and international awards, as well as inclusion in and notable invitational and solo exhibitions, film, and magazines. Her work is currently represented by Canal Frame-Crafts Gallery and The Upstairs Gallery.
Shawn Campbell’s sculptures investigate human frailties and the stories that connect us. The poetic power of her expressive figures can elicit an emotional reaction for the viewer. Shawn’s sculptures are often ethereal, with an innocence that inspires the viewer to create a backstory for her characters. In her sculptures and totems, we experience a mysterious vision of the world, and interconnection between human and non-human realms. Shawn Campbell’s ceramic figures – human, animals or a combination of the two – have eyes that are present but not quite here. They are contemplative, sometimes lost, and often sweet.
Upon retirement, Shawn studied painting and ceramics at The Baum School of Art. She is an award-winning sculptor. In addition to her sculpture work, she also creates hand-built functional pottery. Her work is currently represented by The Artful Deposit and Gallery Piquel.
