Horror Screening and Director Q&A

The Severed Sun is the feature debut of director Dean Puckett — a haunting British folk horror set deep within a world of faith, fear, and folklore. Produced by Rebecca Wolff (Grasp the Nettle Films) and Jude Goldrei (Lunar Lander Films), the film had its world premiere at Fantastic Fest 2024.

This special event offers the chance to meet members of the filmmaking team and hear how Dean — once a student at Glyn High School and UCA Farnham — developed the project through the prestigious iFeatures program with BBC Films, Creative England, and the BFI.

SYNOPSIS:
Magpie lives in an isolated church community, ruled with absolute authority by her father, The Pastor. When a man is murdered, paranoia grips the congregation, and whispers spread of a mysterious “Beast” said to haunt the surrounding forest.
