Ray Kemble and Ron Gulla are former workers in the oil and gas industry. Ray is a resident of Dimock Pennsylvania and has been impacted by fracking physically, mentally and financially. Ron is a farmer, a father and sadly a widow who also lived in Pennsylvania until the impacts of fracking made it too difficult for he and his family to live there. Ray and Ron are survivors of and campaigners against the USA fracking industry, and they will speak with Dr Sinéad Sheehan of Futureproof Clare about their insights into fracking, the impacts of fracking on their livelihoods, their own health and the health of their families, as well as the injustice associated with the fossil fuel industry. Sinéad will discuss the implications of current government plans to build an LNG terminal at the Shannon Estuary from an economic, safety, public health and energy justice perspective. The meeting can be attended online or in person and there will be plenty of time to ask questions and discuss how to get involved in campaigning against LNG in Ireland, and against fracking worldwide. They are now survivors of and campaigners against the USA fracking industry, particularly in Pennsylvania.
