Georgia Shackleton with Aaren Bennett supported by Vic Lennard

Working with fiddle, voice, tenor guitar and drones to create crisp arrangements of old songs, and new compositions. Imaginative arrangements using stripped back instrumentation of just fiddle and harmonium to support Georgia’s pure and distinctive voice. Joined by Aaren Bennett on guitar accompanying some of the material. Together they’ll also be sharing some of the first music to come from Georgia’s ‘Shackleton Violin’ project - music written on a violin built by Steve Burnett, from floorboards from Sir Ernest Shackleton’s former Edinburgh home.

The evening will start with a set from Vic Lennard. Originally from London but now Somersham based, Vic is involved in several music projects ranging from solo acoustic and duos through to a six-piece soul/Motown band and a couple of rock bands. His acoustic styles are reminiscent of James Taylor and John Martyn, while his songwriting covers everyday topics that listeners relate to, with intriguing back stories accompanying each song.
