Following the success of previous concerts for Ely Arts Festival, eclectic violinist Steve Bingham has come up with an exciting programme of pop covers from the decade 1976 to 1986! With members of his string ensemble Ad Hoc Strings, and a range of professional guests, Steve will bring to life a range of iconic songs at a special concert at Ely Methodist Church on the 21st June.
Special guests include percussionist Chris Brannick, known for his work with Ensemble Bash, musical theatre maestro, composer and arranger Rowan Alfred, and local singer/songwriter Mark Fawcett. Steve will also be joined by son Christopher on drums, and daughter Jennifer - with whom he has recorded several pop covers - on vocals. And the inclusion, as regular leader of the violas for Ad Hoc Strings, of Steve’s wife Brenda Stewart means that this will also be a truly family affair!
With a programme that includes Elton John’s “I’m Still Standing”, “Mr Blue Sky” by ELO, Kate Bush’s “Running Up That Hill” and much more, this concert will undoubtedly get your feet tapping and send you away on a high! Definitely an event not to be missed.
Also featuring live painting by Laura Pearson-Clark and a pre-concert conversation between Laura and Steve.
Tickets: £18, £15 concessions. See more:
