Join us as we partner with Kyron Christopherson of Halo Heart Yoga and Sound for this unique sound bathing in the park!
Sound bathing involves various instruments, such as Tibetan and crystal singing bowls, gongs, chimes, drums, rattles, and crystal triangles.
These sounds produce tones, frequencies, and vibrations that wash over the body and mind to either relax or stimulate the nervous system, depending on the individual’s needs.
Unlike melodies you might hear at an orchestra, the tones in a sound bath can range from soothing to potentially unsettling. The way these sounds resonate in the body may indicate whether energy is flowing freely or being blocked within. Keep in mind that each sound bath is a unique experience, depending on which instruments are played, the order in which they are played and the state of your nervous system. As you move in and out of different states of mindfulness, pay attention to any visions that arise, as it’s often said, “Visions are how your soul speaks to the mind.”
What to Bring to a Sound Bath
- Bring a yoga mat, camping mat, or soft blanket to lie or sit on during the session. Alternatively, you can sit comfortably in a chair or zero-gravity lounger if lying down isn’t an option.
- A pillow for your head, and perhaps an extra blanket or two to stay warm or feel secure, if needed.
- Layers! Your body temperature may drop during deep relaxation, so wear layers like a t-shirt, sweatshirt, sweatpants, socks, etc. Dress for comfort to stay cozy.
- Water! Be well-hydrated before the session.
- Lastly, come with an open mind and a curious heart to fully embrace and enjoy your sound bathing experience.
