The Instrument Petting Zoo is a hands-on musical playground packed with everything from fiddles and ukuleles to drums, maracas, kazoos, and even thumb pianos! Kids get the chance to explore, experiment, and make a joyful racket with a wide array of traditional acoustic instruments—many for the very first time.
Brought to life by Ian the Director of Young Tradition Vermont, this program brings wonder and possibility into preschool classrooms. It’s all about planting the seeds of curiosity, confidence, and creativity—giving little ones the chance to connect with music in a way that’s fun, engaging, and totally unforgettable.
Who knows? The next great banjo player or cellist might be strumming their first chord right here at the Instrument Petting Zoo!
Wide variety of traditional acoustic instruments include: The majority are stringed instruments like fiddles, ukuleles, sarangi, guitars, banjos, mandolins, autoharps, cellos, basses, etc. however it also includes drums, kazoos, maracas, recorders, thumb pianos, tin whistles, and more.
