Visual Poetry Workshop with Octavio Quintanilla

Join us for a Workshop with Octavio Quintanilla, TX Poet Laureate 2025: “Mark-Making/Text-Making: A Visual Poetry Workshop” at 4-5pm, Wednesday June 18th.

Students and community are invited. In-person workshop (in ELABS 125a) with Zoom option.

Octavio Quintanilla is the author of three poetry collections, including The Book of Wounded Sparrows (longlisted for the National Book Award 2024), and Las Horas Imposibles/The Impossible Hours, winner of the Ambroggio Prize from the Academy of American Poets. His Frontextos (visual poems) have been featured widely. An alum of legacy institution UT Pan American, Quintanilla is a professor of literature and creative writing at Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio.
