We will meet at the Exxon in San Manuel (corner of U.S. 281 and TX 186 in San Manuel, Texas at 8:45 a.m. and head out at 9 a.m.:
Exxon- TEX BEST #532
36188 NORTH EXPRESSWAY 281,
EDINBURG,TX 78542
We will go past the more famous entrance to La Sal del Rey off Hwy. 186 (about a mile walk) and take a left on Brushline Road to a new entrance, (about a half-mile walk) with a restroom.
On the way from car to salt lake, let us practice the silent Japanese art of forest bathing, known as shinrin-yoku. Shinrin-yoku is a practice of spending time in nature, particularly forests, to improve health and well-being. It involves a variety of activities, such as walking, listening to sounds, and appreciating the beauty of the natural environment. The goal is to slow down, connect with nature through all senses, and reap the benefits of a deeper connection with the natural world.
Once at the lake, we can break our silence and take in the grand, surreal experience.
(If you don't want to do the Shinrin-Yoku thing, that's totally fine. This is YOUR experience.)

I recommend you bring a phone or camera to record this wonderous place.
