Spring has sprung and our shovels are ready! It's time for our annual Opening Day celebration - the Saturday after Mother's Day when we roll up our sleeves and kick off another amazing growing season together.
👉 What's Happening?
Get your hands dirty with purpose! This is THE big day when we start planting our Giving Garden - the heart of our mission that provided over 1,600 pounds of fresh produce to our most vulnerable neighbors last year. This season, we're reaching for 2,000 pounds! That's a whole lot of veggies grown with love and community power.
🌱 Rent Your Own Space: Secure a 4x4 raised bed to grow your own veggies, flowers, and herbs
🌱 Plant for Purpose: Help us plant the Giving Garden (no experience needed!)
🌱 Fuel Up: BBQ and refreshments to keep your energy high
🌱 Move to the Music: Good tunes and spontaneous dancing guaranteed
🌱 Flex Those Muscles: Strong hands needed for moving fill dirt (but only if that's your jam)
🌱 Stay for the Celebration: Weather permitting, we might have a small fire afterward to celebrate our successful start
👉 What to Bring:
• Your favorite hand tools (if you have them - no worries if you don't!)
• Gardening gloves (again, we've got extras if needed)
• Sunscreen and a water bottle
• A friend or five! The more the merrier
• Your wonderful self and whatever energy you've got to share

This event is truly for EVERYONE regardless of age, skill level, or ability. Never touched dirt before? Perfect! Master gardener? Awesome! Just want to read a book under our shade tree? We've got a spot for you!
Urban Seed is more than just growing food - we're growing community. We're bringing together folks who want to take an active role in creating the change they wish to see.
So whether you're ready to plant, move soil, hunt for bugs with the kids, learn something new, or just soak up some sunshine with good people - there's a place for you here.

Parking available in our lot and at the neighboring church. If able, please consider parking on the side street.
